Happy New Year!
Although we are already a full calendar month into the New Year, the Real Estate year has only really just begun.
And,The Chinese New Year.
Last weekend was our first weekend back of reported Auctions and this Saturday will see the return, possibly, of loads of listings hitting the web.
However, while this weekend is traditionally the first big weekend, we have seen a busy marketing January compared to normal in our area.
There has not been much movement in the external impactors to the Sydney real estate market, well not directly, seeing as Canberra (parliament) has been on a break along with a lot of us.
We have seen one big impact however; ‘The Trump’, although we are yet to see what this will do for property in this country –what we do know, is it has certainly caused a stir in the stock markets and not to mention, in social politics. …
While the market does tend to quieten down over the ‘silly season’ things are still happening and properties are still selling. Because movement is a little slower, instead of listing December and January separately, I have listed them all together.
Sydney Auction Clearance Rates:
Only 55 properties were listed for Auction, 41 were reported to have taken place, 32 sold, 8 were withdrawn, giving us a 65% clearance rate. Which gives us no real scope for the year thus far. The median was also down at $907,000 – once again, no real indicator.
