Another School Holiday weekend with great results for the property market, insofar as Auction results, which is great!
There were originally 651 Auction scheduled for the weekend with 466 reportedly taking place and of those, 394 were sold under the hammer. There were also 34 properties withdrawn for whatever reason.
The median price of property cleared at Auction was $1,196,500 which is still incredibly high for property sold at Auction. The clearance rate was also high at 79%.
Looking at property sold on the Upper North Shore, there is a reoccurring trend for Agents to list sale prices as ‘undisclosed’. I have noted both buyers and vendors growing distaste for this trend more and more.
Traditionally, Agents would hope, or ask, for an undisclosed result in the hope that interested homeowners would have to call the agent for the price, ultimately resulting in that agents next sale. However, these days the rumor-mill works faster and harder than ever before, so if you are looking for a price, just ask enough people and you will find it.
